Professor David Jackman The seed of the idea behind the Ethics Foundation was sown by Professor David Jackman, who recognised that a prescriptive approach to ethics often fails to bring about change in organisations. At the time, David was Head of Training and Competency and business ethics at the Financial Services Authority and initiated a number of programmes at the FSA to incorporate ethics in to financial services. Since then David pioneered work on principle-based regulation and ‘Treating Customers Fairly’. David chairs the British Standards (BSI) Committee on Sustainable Development and is primary author of BS8900.
John Fleetwood John Fleetwood joined the Foundation in late 2004 and has used his considerable experience of practical ethical issues to further develop the Foundation. John has been professionally involved in socially responsible investment since 1991, having run a successful advisory business and now being engaged in the design and marketing of ethical investment products, as well as ethical research. He founded the Ethical Investment Association which is the industry body for advisers on ethical investment, and has written widely on ethical investment issues.
Living and working on the very edge of the National Park, John has a heartfelt concern for the natural environment and a passion for the wild, which often takes him to the lonely heights at all times of day or night and in all weathers.
